Thyroid dysfunction during pregnancy is a significant health concern due to its implications for both maternal and fetal health. Proper thyroid function is crucial for normal pregnancy progression and fetal development. Conditions such as hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism can lead to adverse outcomes, including preeclampsia, preterm birth, low birth weight, and neurodevelopmental impairments in the child. This paper examines the impact of thyroid dysfunction on pregnancy, emphasizing the importance of early diagnosis, appropriate management, and continuous monitoring to ensure optimal maternal and fatal outcomes.
